12 Core Principles of Our Work
I have an exciting share! I have been working hard with Theresa Sullivan at Little Flame Creative on articulating the principles that ground my work. We crafted and re-crafted them, clarifying ideas and finding the right words for them. There are 12 core principles, with the body at the center, and a few bullets for each offering some exploration of them. We even made a lil poster graphic so you can visualize them non-hierarchically! Which is in sync with the principles themselves.
The principles will become a teaching tool in our courses and they will be on the blog as a support for folks looking to orient themselves as they learn modalities and sculpt a practice that fits their unique being.
Here is an excerpt from the blog:
When we are engaging in a principled approach to clinical work and ongoing study, we are not rigidly reproducing doctrines from the past but living with ideas in the present; testing them against real world experience. We are guided through inquiry. When grounded in principles we are encouraged to be creative when challenged by the inevitable complexities that show up on our tables. Our best work will often be outside of “technique” and come from unique combinations of applied principles.
